Espostoa is a genus of columnar cacti, comprising 16 species known from the Andes of southern Ecuador and Peru. It usually lives at an altitude of between 800m and 2500m. Its fruit is edible, sweet, and juicy. The genus is named after Nicolas E. Esposto, a renowned botanist from Lima.

Espostoa mirabilis is a columnar somewhat shrubby to tree-like Cactus, green stems, up to 10cm to 12cm in diameter, 13 to 16 ribs on average, 1 or 2 white long central spines with brownish tips; 30 or more white and brownish radials spines. New growth typically emerges from the base but occasionally from the side of stems. A tropical type cacti Espostoa mirabilis likes regular water in summer but little water in winter.
